This is the heart of the autopilot. It processes the
signals in the autopilot system, accepting information from the control
unit, compass and rudder feedback as well as the plotter/navigation
receiver, remote controls and other peripheral equipment.
It contains the steering computer with its sophisticated
steering algorithms and delivers instructions and power to the drive unit.
Three models are available to adapt to the particulars of your boat's
steering gear and the other instruments onboard.
To enable you to choose exactly the autopilot system
which is suitable for you - and at the best price, Simrad Robertson has
created an expandable system which incorporates a common main board for all
the units with three levels of power handling. The new units are very easily
installed with separate covers for terminals and electronics, and also have
cable and polarity independent two-wire cable for rudder feedback and
heading sensor. Servicing is easy too, replacement of parts or boards can be
made without disconnecting signal cables. |
