- Locate the type of boat you have in column A of the chart below.
- From the chart, select the steering system best suited to your boat.
You may want to review the specific features for each system.
- Proceed to the appropriate section of the web site for a detailed

- If your specific engine is not listed in the application charts,

CENTER CONSOLE Boat with control station located on a centerline
mounted console. Generally designed specifically for fishing. Boats may be
single or dual engine.

CRUISER Cuddy/express/bridge cruiser primarily designed for
cruising. It has overnight accommodations. Typically rigged with two
steering stations. Boats may be single or dual engine.
FISH ‘N’ SKI Single engine outboard powered boat designed for day
fishing or skiing in protected waters.
OTHER FISH BOAT Boat primarily designed and equipped for offshore
fishing. May be rigged with a second steering station. Boats may be single
or dual engine.
RUNABOUT Intended for day boating. Typically a single engine but can be
a dual engine boat. Includes tournament ski boats and performance outboards.

BASS
BOAT Single engine outboard powered boat designed specifically for
fishing in protected waters. Typically performance oriented.
INFLATABLES Boats manufactured of waterproofed fabric which are inflated
with air in order to achieve their shape. The bottom of the hull may be made
of fabric or fiberglass. They typically have narrow transoms. Boats may be
single or dual engine.
WORK / COMMERCIAL / RESCUE Any of the previously listed applications
involved in revenue producing or rescue activities. Typically a very severe
service environment |

hydraulic systems may be more than is needed on lower horsepower engines.

powered boats to outboard powered boats with a maximum 150 HP (total) or

1. Requires Spacer kit part # HO5090
2. Engine clamp brackets must be cut or ground, and
the engine through bolted onto the transom, or interference will
occur, restricting engine trim and tilt.
3. Steering hook Yamaha Part # 63D-48511-00-4D must be
installed |
4. Cylinder HC4645 may be used in these
applications. The pivot plate will need to be flipped before
installation. Instructions provided with Owner’s Manual.
5. Johnson 115 HP 2-Stroke enginnes, require the
pivot plate to be flipped. See Note #4. |
