NEWS RELEASE
Radio receiver from SI-TEX keep you in touch with the world, either
while cruising or home. The NAV-FAX 200 covers shortwave communications
in the 30 kHz to 30 MHz range, including the complete spectrum of
International, commercial broadcast and amateur frequencies. Tune to the
BBC, Radio Moscow, or China Radio International and learn of global
events first hand. Listen to amateur radio conversations from as close
as your own neighborhood to as far away as the outback of Australia.
Check on weather patterns that may affect you in coming days. The NAV-FAX
200 opens up the world to you.
The NAV-FAX 200 includes a data interface port, cable and trial
version of Mscan Meteo PRO 2.1—Lite software. It features crystal
controlled, fully synthesized receiver circuitry with 1 microvolt
sensitivity. A large LCD displays the frequency and signal strength.
There is a large, multi-speed flywheel-balanced knob for precise tuning.
A four-level, variable tuning rate allows quick and easy, one-touch band
switching. Push buttons select either a signal's main carrier or its
upper and lower sidebands. One alternate listening frequency can be
easily stored and quickly retuned with the memory and recall buttons.
This is also the default frequency at turn on.
The units measure 7 1/4 inches wide by 2 3/4 inches high by 6 3/4 inches
deep. A 3-inch speaker, driven by two watts of audio output and
optimized for voice, is located on the top of the case. Data port, power
and antenna connections are made at the rear. Supplied with a simple
long wire antenna standard. For best performance, optional active
antenna is available.
The NAV-FAX 200 can interface with most any PC through its sound
card. The weather fax display software runs under Windows and requires a
minimum W95/98/ME/2000/XP, Pentium 100, 24MB, Mouse, and sound card.
A 2-year limited warranty is standard on all SI-TEX marine electronics.
