Blue Sea Panels: 800.222.7617

Traditional Panels are suited for use as extension to existing panels or as full replacements.

360 Panel System
uses an open frame to mount a broad selection of modules that allows multiple functions to be combined in a single panel. This innovative design offers a wide choice of panel features, can accommodate future changes and permits rapid assembly and shipping time.

Rotary Switch Panel provide a compact and intuitive solution for safety managing AC sources when circuit protection is provided elsewhere.

Surface Mount System: Panel Enclosures for ELCI Main cricuit breakers and other large frame devices.

BEP Panels: technical@bepmarine.com

A variety of switches, breakers and custom panels offer the products and designs you need for your vessel. Spray proof or waterproof panel designs are available in standard and custom panels. Contour Generation II spray proof panels can be mounted vertically or horizontally for added versatility. - Switch Panels, DC breaker panels, AC breaker panels

ABYC Ampacity Rating Table at 30°C

  • For bundles of 4 to 6 conductors multiply by 0.857
  • For bundles of 7 to 24 conductors multiply by 0.714
  • For bundles of 25 or more, conductors multiply by 0.571

SAE conductors are smaller than equivalent AWG by 5%–12% with current capacity typically less by 7%.
ISO Ratings for metric wire are slightly less than these values derived from ABYC VI-A ratings.

Wires counted in bundles need not include:

  1. Wires carrying intermittent currents no more than rating per VI-A and for less than one minute per mm of diameter‚ and not repeating more often than a delay of 5 times active duration.
  2. Wires carrying load currents at less than 50% of the wire rating per table VI-B.

Battery Management Wiring Schematics for Typical Applications

Batteries are at the heart of the electrical systems found on any boat or vehicle. Proper battery management, including switching and charging, is essential for safe and reliable operation. The following basic wiring diagrams show how batteries, battery switches, and Automatic Charging Relays are wired together from a simple single battery / single engine configuration to a two engine, one generator, and four battery bank system. For more detailed wiring guidelines please consult a qualified marine electrician or one of the many books available on the subject.

The diagrams below are intended for reference only. Consult an ABYC certified marine electrical professional for system design and circuit protection.

Conformité Européenne (CE)

The CE mark is the official marking required by the European Community for products that will be sold, or put into service for the first time, anywhere in the European community. It proves to the buyer or user that a product fulfills all essential safety and environmental requirements for the product's intended use, as they are defined in the European Directives, primarily ISO Standards, but in the case of marine products, the Recreational Craft Directive as well.

In return for fulfilling the CE marking requirements, the manufacturer or its agent may cover the entire European market using only one approval procedure for the topics covered in the directives.

The member states of the EC cannot refuse any product that has been CE marked, unless fraud is suspected. For some products, however, national regulations may exist, as long as the topics covered in these national regulations are not covered by a pan-European Directive. An example is Ergonomics in Germany for PC-related equipment.

A manufacturer that is using the CE mark must:1. Be European,2. Or have an official department in the European Community,3. or have an official agent or representative that is willing to take the liability for the CE-marking.

The attachment of the CE mark to a product must be based on a formal compliance statement which usually takes the form of a Declaration of Conformity. The Declaration of Conformity is a "self-declaration" statement that must contain: 1. Who the manufacturer is2. What product the Declaration refers to3. What directives are involved4. What standards are applicable5. Where test results can be found6. Who the responsible individual is in the declaring company

The Declaration of Conformity should be available to the authorities at the point of entry on the European Market. This means that it should be signed by the manufacturer's European representative for companies outside the EC. Its main purpose is to show proof of liability for compliance with EC regulations involved to the authorities and customs.
